Another batch of baby chicks arrived July 2nd. I will begin advertising them for sale as pullets at 6 weeks of age, but if you want them sooner to experience chick raising for yourself just let me know.
They are Golden Comet hens, also known as "Production Reds". They will be excellent layers of large and x-large brown eggs. The Golden Comet breed is created by crossing a White Plymouth Rock hen with a Rhode Island Red rooster, creating a Red Sexlink chicken with a nice mild temperament and high laying production. The chicks' gender can be identified soon after hatching because the roosters are a light cream color and the hens are more red. They do well in warm and cold weather and are good free-rangers. They mingle well with other breeds and are just a nice all around chicken.
Update 8/7/14:
All Golden Comet pullets are SOLD.

Adult Chickens for sale:
January 2015: I have about 16 Golden Comet laying hens for sale. They are 2 years old. I have
lights up in my coop and am getting lots of eggs every day so I think
they're all currently laying and done molting. They lay large to jumbo
size brown eggs, double yolks are not rare in my coops. They are used to
free ranging and always return to the coops on their own at night.
$5.00 each. -All are SOLD. I will have more adult hens for sale in the Fall.
